AMD's Radeon R9 390 GPU was was released in market to succeed the R9 290 but mostly, the newer model is physically similar to its predecessor as Both GPUs share the same 28nm GCN-based design and with 2,560 shaders but r9 390 is improved with twice the amount of GDDR5 video memory( 8GB versus 4GB ) and faster clock speeds on the memory and core to deliver better performance .Its graphics processor is clocked at 1050 MHz in gaming mode and 1070 MHz in OC mode . It has 2,560 stream processors,160 texture units and 64 ROPs.The card is cooled by a large heat sink, fitted with three fans.

In AMD’s new lineup the R9 380X slots in between AMD’s more expensive R9 390 and the cheaper R9 380. AMD is promoting this card as an entry-level card for 2560x1440 gaming,the R9 380X is about 10% faster than the 2GB R9 380 at 1080p.
